Three to five minutes. You answer in your own words. We do not ask for your social security number or any government ID at this stage.
Our rules engine scores your case
We compare your answers against the state statute that governs your case. Texas: Tex. Code Crim. Proc. ch. 55 + ch. 411. California: PC §§ 1203.4, 851.91, AB 1076 / SB 731. Each verdict cites the law that supports it.
You see a clear verdict
Your result says whether the facts you entered appear to match a published rule, whether a waiting period may apply, or whether more information is needed. This is a screening, not a legal determination.
You choose what's next
Save your result and supporting documents. Draft petition PDFs are paused for legal and form review and are not ready for filing. The guided workbook is limited to Texas, with paid enrollment temporarily unavailable. You review and file any petition yourself using the applicable court forms. We do not offer an attorney-review tier.
Why we built it this way
Many record-clearing platforms operate on fear: send you a list of “found records” to scare you into paying. We don't. RecordReset asks you about your own case, in your own words, and gives you back the relevant law plus a clear answer. No mugshots, no urgency banners, no pressure.
